Silver precision: the ArcSaber 10 Peter Gade Player Edition
The first signature
Released in 2011 during Gade's final competitive years, the ArcSaber 10 Peter Gade Player Edition in Silver was the first time Yonex formally acknowledged him with a signature colorway. Gade was 33, ranked in the world's top 10, and playing some of the most cerebral badminton of his career. The PG Silver was his competitive racquet — not a tribute, not a limited edition, but the actual tool he used in tournament play.
What the silver means aesthetically
The standard ARC-10 was navy blue. The PG edition converted it to a matte silver that aligns with Gade's visual identity — cool, composed, deliberate. For a player known for precision and restraint rather than power and aggression, the silver colorway is the correct visual language. It is one of the most aesthetically coherent player edition designs Yonex has produced.
Before and after the Legend Vision
The ARC-10PG predates the Legend Vision ARC-10LPG by six years. The two serve different collector roles: the PG Silver is the competitive-era signature (the racquet he actually played with), the LPG is the legacy tribute (the formal acknowledgment of his career). For the Gade collector, both have distinct value. The PG Silver commands $600; the LPG is $1,068. Both are worth owning.
True matte silver finish — no chrome or metallic lacquer sheen. 'Peter Gade' signature printed, not stickered. Standard Yonex hologram (pre-LV program, not fractured-light design). Made in Japan. Weight 85g ±2g (3U). Even balance — a common counterfeit error is listing standard ARC-10 as 'PG Edition'; verify color and signature.
Slow, steady appreciation. The competitive-era player edition with genuine provenance. Completionist acquisition for the Peter Gade collection after the ARC-10LPG.
