Nanoflare 1000 Tour: the Z’s compact frame and Extra Stiff flex, never sold in Japan

The Z’s frame shape, two materials short

The Nanoflare 1000 Tour (item code NF-1000T) is the second of the four Nanoflare 1000 racquets, below the 1000 Z and above the Game and the Play. It shares more with the Z than either lower tier does. Yonex gives both the Aero Compact Frame, an Extra Stiff flex, a frame 10 mm longer than standard and a choice of 3U or 4U; what changes is the materials list, where Nanocell NEO takes the place of the Z’s Nanometric DR and M40X. It is also the 1000 model that Yonex sells abroad but not at home. Yonex Japan launched only the Z and the Game, and its catalogs of 2024 to 2026 list neither the Tour nor the Play.

Four models from one launch

Yonex announced the Nanoflare 1000 on May 11, 2023, as its new flagship racquet, “scheduled for a global launch on June 16th, 2023, in four different models, Z, TOUR, GAME and PLAY – each developed with the same performance concept but with variations in materials used.” The release splits the four by frame. The Game and Play have the Wide Profile Frame, the series’ wide, sharp-edged aero shape. The Z and Tour combine it with a compact frame to form the Aero Compact Frame, which Yonex says concentrates power on the sweet spot, and these “advanced models” get high-modulus graphite at the top and bottom of the frame and a Speed-Assist Bumper, a connected grommet of rigid material fitted at the base of the frame to reduce warp.

No named user

No Yonex report names a player using the 1000 Tour. Yonex’s launch news put the new Nanoflare 1000 in the hands of Carolina Marín, Lakshya Sen and He Bingjiao, and Yonex’s later athlete listings tie that story to the 1000 Z, whose page tells it. Yonex USA describes the Tour as “designed for intermediate to advanced players,” a step above the Game, which it aims at intermediate players, and the Play, which it designs for recreational players.

What the Tour keeps and drops

Yonex’s global page lists the Tour’s frame as HM Graphite, Nanocell NEO and EX-Hyper MG and its shaft as HM Graphite, with a built-in T-joint. The Z’s frame adds Nanometric DR and M40X, its shaft adds Ultra PE Fiber, and its joint is Yonex’s “new” built-in T-joint. Yonex USA’s 2024 catalog gives the Tour the Z’s Compact Frame, Speed-Assist Bumper, Sonic Flare System, Super Slim Shaft and Energy Boost Cap Plus, plus a Rexis shaft. All four 1000 models come in Lightning Yellow (color 824), and Yonex lists no other color or edition of the Tour. The Game drops to Medium flex, the Wide Profile Frame and 4U only; the Play is graphite throughout. Yonex repeated the ladder for the Nanoflare 800 in late 2023 with an 800 Tour rated Stiff. No Yonex source records an “ArcSaber 1000 Tour,” a name that blends this racquet with the ArcSaber 11 Tour.

Sold outside Japan

The Tour is in current production. Yonex’s global site listed it in stock in October 2026, Yonex Taiwan lists it, and Yonex USA’s 2024 catalog carries it; Yonex USA’s store sells it unstrung, in 4U with a G5 grip. Yonex Japan has never listed it, so in Japan the Z and the Game are the 1000 models Yonex itself sells. Yonex’s global page printed the same specification in September 2023 as in October 2026, adding only string recommendations. Yonex has announced no end date, and new stock at retail is the reference for an unused frame. No verified sales are recorded yet.

Fakes and the wrong 1000

No counterfeit specific to the 1000 Tour is documented, and Yonex publishes no guide for the model. The practical risk is a genuine racquet sold under the wrong name: the four 1000 models share the name and the yellow, and the Tour also shares the Z’s flex, weights and frame shape. Origin helps. Yonex Japan lists the Z as made in Japan, and Yonex Taiwan lists the Tour as made in Taiwan; some listings give the Tour a Japan origin that no Yonex source supports. Yonex USA’s store page prints a Medium shaft flex for the Tour, against Extra Stiff on Yonex’s global page, Yonex Taiwan’s page and Yonex USA’s own 2024 catalog, so a listing that copies it understates the flex.

The Z’s stiff understudy

The Tour is a standard current racquet with one color, no named player and no limited run, and Yonex has announced no end to it. Its place in the Nanoflare 1000 story is as the tier that brings the Z’s compact frame and Extra Stiff flex to a Taiwan-made racquet sold outside Japan. A documented production end, a second color or a Yonex report naming a player on it would give it a collector story it does not yet have.

Authentication

Yonex’s item code is NF-1000T. Check for Lightning Yellow, an Extra Stiff flex rating, a frame 10 mm longer than standard and Yonex’s weights: 4U at an average of 83 g (grips 5–6) or 3U at 88 g (grips 4–6). Yonex Taiwan lists it as made in Taiwan. Yonex lists the frame as HM Graphite, Nanocell NEO and EX-Hyper MG and the shaft as HM Graphite. A yellow 1000 marked Japan is the Z (NF-1000Z); a medium-flex yellow 1000 in 4U only is the Game (NF-1000G) or the Play (NF-1000P). Yonex’s own test is the hologram sticker, which resists peeling on a genuine racquet and lifts easily with a fingernail on a fake.

Outlook

A current racquet, so most players will buy it new. Yonex recommends 20–28 lb for the 4U and 21–29 lb for the 3U, with Aerobite for control players and Exbolt 65 for hard hitters. On a used frame, ask for photos of the model name, the item code and the weight label, and confirm it is a Tour rather than a Z: the two share flex, weights and color. Marín’s and Sen’s link to the Nanoflare 1000 belongs to the Z.
