Isometric 50: the last Isometric column on Yonex’s 1999 Asian spec chart
The last Isometric column
The Isometric 50 is known from one Yonex record: the last Isometric column of the spec chart in Yonex’s 1999 Asian catalog, headed simply “50,” after the 60 Light. No catalog page, spec block or photograph of it is documented.
Middle flex, lowest power
The chart rates by dots. The 50 sits on the middle flex mark, level with the 95 VF and 95 VF Long, on the lowest power mark (“Medium”), the only Isometric there, and one mark above Medium for control, level with the 60 Light. No Yonex document gives a flex word, frame material, weight class, balance, length, made-in country or item code.
No named player
Yonex names no player for the 50.
Not documented as the 50 MF
Yonex’s 2000 Asian catalog has an Isometric-50 MF, an aluminum-framed Mega-Frame tagged New, which has its own page. No Yonex source links it to the 1999 “50,” and nothing records the 50’s frame material.
One year on record
1999 is the 50’s earliest and last documented year. Yonex USA’s Isometric lists of 1999–2004 do not show it; no production end is documented and no Yonex document found prints a price for it. No verified sales are recorded yet.
Checking the name
No counterfeit of the Isometric 50 is documented. With no item code, photograph or frame print on record, the printed name is the only check, and a frame reading “50 MF” is the 2000 model.
A name and three ratings
The record is a name and three ratings at the bottom of the 1999 Isometric line. Anything more awaits a Yonex catalog page or spec block.
Yonex documents only the name and three chart ratings for the Isometric 50: no item code, frame material, weight class, flex word or country of manufacture. Its appearance is not documented. A frame printed “50 MF” is the 2000 aluminum-framed Mega-Frame, a separate record. Inspect the throat, hoop and grommet holes on any frame of this age.
The Isometric 50 interests a collector of the 1999 Isometric line. With a single chart column as its record, any material, weight, color or made-in claim is a seller’s; ask for clear photographs of the full name on the frame.
