The VT-5 is a step above the VT-1 in the Voltric hierarchy, offering a slightly firmer construction for developing players who had outgrown entry-level models. Widely distributed through sport retail chains across Asia and Europe during the early-2010s Voltric era, it was among the most commonly played Voltrics at club level.

The VT-5 retains the Voltric series' defining characteristic — a heavier head for more powerful smashes — while the medium-flex shaft gives players enough feedback to begin developing wrist snap and timing on attacking shots.
