The first of the trilogy: Voltric Z-Force II LD Yellow
Opening chapter
The Yellow Lin Dan Exclusive was the first chapter in Yonex's three-colorway LD narrative for the Z-Force II frame. Released in 2015–2016, the Yellow was the most visible of the pair — used in several high-profile Lin Dan promotional appearances and stocked across more markets than the subsequent White edition.
The 4U factor
Specifications mirror the full LD formula: Extra Stiff flex, HM Graphite shaft reinforced with EX-HMG and NANOMETRIC, available in both 3U (88g) and 4U (83g). The 4U variant was particularly sought after by singles players who wanted Lin Dan's head-heavy feel with a slightly more manageable swing weight. Current secondary market value sits at $948 — a meaningful premium over the standard VTZF2 despite identical frame geometry, driven entirely by LD signature branding and Japan-coded provenance.
Completing the set
The Yellow is the entry point for collectors building toward the White. Many serious collections include all three colorways displayed together, making individual mint examples increasingly difficult to source. The Yellow occupies the middle position in the trilogy by price — less accessible than the Red ($578), less rare than the White ($1,288).
Distinct yellow and black colorway — not orange, not gold. 'Lin Dan Exclusive' printed on shaft. Made in Japan. Extra Stiff shaft — stiffer than standard VTZF2. Tri-iBumper dual-layer grommets at throat. EX-HMG branding present on some shaft positions.
Solid mid-tier entry into the LD Z-Force trilogy. Will appreciate as mint examples become scarcer. Buy 4U variants for maximum resale optionality.
