ArcSaber 10 N: a red ArcSaber 10 rerun with no Yonex launch on record
A rerun known from its labels
The ArcSaber 10 N is a red ArcSaber 10, made in Japan and sold years after Yonex Japan dropped the original in 2012. No Yonex page, release or catalog entry for it is known. Yonex USA’s 2019 catalog printed only the Pearl White ArcSaber 10, and Yonex’s global ArcSaber list of September 2020 showed only the 11, FD and Lite. What identifies the N is Yonex’s own labelling: the butt label on a 4U frame reads “ARC10NNSP R 4U5”. On the shaft, the frame looks like the 2008 original.
The original frame, a new code
Retail listings from about 2019 sold it as a re-edition of the red ArcSaber 10, under export item codes ARC10NSP-R for 3U and ARC10NNSP-R for 4U, both with G5 grips. The shaft print reads “ArcSaber 10 / CS CARBON NANOTUBE + SUPER HMG”, the materials Yonex listed for the original frame, and the grip wrap is printed MADE IN JAPAN. On the 4U frame, Yonex’s throat sticker recommends 19–24 lb. Yonex never explained the N, and nothing documents a change in layup; retail specification sheets repeat the original’s.
No documented player
No professional is documented using the ArcSaber 10 N. The frame’s player story, with Taufik Hidayat and Peter Gade, belongs to the 2008 original and is told in the ArcSaber 10 article.
Telling the red ArcSaber 10s apart
Red ArcSaber 10s include the 2008 original, the Taufik Hidayat edition on sale by October 2015, and the N. Yonex documented the original only in 3U and 2U, so a red 4U ArcSaber 10 without Taufik Hidayat’s name points to the N. A plain red 3U frame needs its label: ARC10NSP-R or ARC10NNSP-R marks the N, and the Taufik edition carries his name. The photographed 4U label also bears a sticker of PBSI, Indonesia’s badminton association, a market mark rather than a player link. The white re-release of the same period is the Pearl White.
An unnamed racquet in the resale record
No verified sales of the ArcSaber 10 N are recorded yet, and no Yonex launch price is documented for it. Resale titles seldom name the N; most say only “ArcSaber 10” or add the color, which also covers the 2008 original. Without a label photo or a 4U class, a red listing cannot be pinned to this run.
The risk is a mix-up
No counterfeit specific to the N is documented. The ArcSaber 10 was copied from its first years, as the ArcSaber 10 article describes, but for this run the likelier problem is a genuine red ArcSaber 10 of another era sold as the N, or the reverse. An N printed on the shaft is not a sign to look for, since the documented shaft print is the original’s.
The latest known run of the frame
The N is the latest known run of a frame Yonex first sold in 2008, after the Taufik and Gade editions and the Pearl White. Its dates are thin: retail listings place it from about 2019, a Hong Kong shop showed every size and grip sold out by mid-2025, and no Yonex source records when production ended.
Read the butt label first. Yonex’s label on the 4U reads “ARC10NNSP R 4U5”; retail listings give ARC10NSP-R for the 3U. The 4U’s throat sticker gives 4U, G5 and 19–24 lb. The grip wrap should be printed MADE IN JAPAN and the butt cap should carry a JAPAN sticker. The shaft reads “ArcSaber 10 / CS CARBON NANOTUBE + SUPER HMG”, the same as the original, so the shaft alone cannot identify the N. A red frame with Taufik Hidayat’s name is the Taufik edition. Look for a listing that shows the butt label and the throat sticker; without them a red ArcSaber 10 cannot be pinned to the N. Treat a year in a listing title as the seller’s, since Yonex never published one. A player after the ArcSaber 10’s feel can choose on condition and grip, as the frame is the original’s. For a collector, the N’s interest lies in being the frame’s latest documented run; Yonex has published no production figure for it.
