ArcSaber 3: Yonex Japan’s made-in-Japan all-rounder of 2023, not the old 3 FL
An all-rounder, made in Japan
The ArcSaber 3 (item code ARC3) went on sale in Japan in early February 2023, in the same release as the ArcSaber 1 and the Nanoflare 300. Yonex Japan called it “an all-round model with no quirks, easy to handle” (クセがなく扱いやすいオールラウンドモデル) that adds a softer feel and better length to precise control. It sits one step above the Taiwan-made ArcSaber 1 and is made in Japan, at ¥15,400 including tax at launch. Yonex Japan still lists it in 2026.
The Enhanced ArcSaber Frame
Yonex lists high-strength carbon with the Pocketing Booster in the frame, carbon with Ultra PE Fiber in the shaft, and a built-in T-joint with T-Anchor. Its page describes an “Enhanced ArcSaber Frame”: grooved, stiffer sections at the top and bottom of the head for face stability, ungrooved sides for longer shuttle hold, and the T-Anchor at the joint to cut wobble on impact. It also names the box-shaped frame, a Super Slim Shaft and the E.B. Cap Plus, and marks the racquet 10 mm longer than standard. Yonex prints no flex rating and no balance word; the gauge in its 2024–2026 Japanese catalogs straddles the even mark. Yonex recommends 18–23 lb.
Beginners to intermediates, no named user
No player is documented using the ArcSaber 3. Yonex Japan’s level chart gives it the top mark (◎) for beginners and a lower mark (○) for intermediate players, men and women alike, and leaves the advanced column blank. The Japan Badminton Association’s approved list first carried the ARC3 in August 2022, about six months before it went on sale.
One cyan frame between the 1 and the 7 Pro
Yonex has sold the ArcSaber 3 in one color, Cyan (シアン), with no limited edition. Against the ArcSaber 1 it adds high-strength carbon in the frame and Ultra PE Fiber in the shaft, and it is made in Japan rather than Taiwan; the 1 is Magenta and has its own page. The ArcSaber 7 Pro above it is also Japan-made, 4U and 10 mm longer, with a medium flex rating. The name is shared with the ArcSaber 3 FL (ARC3FL), an earlier, flexible 4U model whose production Yonex Japan ended in 2012; it is a different racquet and has its own page.
Still on Yonex Japan’s list
The ArcSaber 3 is in production. It joined Yonex Japan’s racquet list in February 2023, is on the spec charts of its 2024, 2025 and 2026 catalogs, and was still listed in Cyan on October 8, 2026, beside the ArcSaber 11 Pro, 7 Pro, 7 Tour and 1. Yonex Japan’s price notice of December 2023 set ¥16,500 including tax from January 2024. No Yonex USA catalog or list on Yonex’s global site carries it, so outside Japan it turns up as an import. No verified sales are recorded yet.
A shared name, not fakes
No counterfeit of the ArcSaber 3 is documented. The likelier mix-up is with the ArcSaber 3 FL, whose name and item code carry the FL suffix, and with the ArcSaber 1, which shares the 3’s weight class, length and Pocketing Booster. The item code, the Cyan finish and the country of origin separate them.
A Japan-made step up
The ArcSaber 3 gives Yonex Japan’s ArcSaber line a Japan-made all-round frame between its entry model and the Pros, with an Ultra PE shaft and the grooved-and-ungrooved head that Yonex also describes for the 2022 ArcSaber 11 Pro and 7 Pro. It is a standard racquet in one color, with no limited edition and no documented player, so its interest is practical rather than collectible. Yonex has announced no successor.
Yonex’s item code is ARC3. Check for the Cyan finish, a 4U label (average 83 g) with grip 5 or 6, the 10 mm longer marking and the Pocketing Booster; Yonex Japan gives Japan as the country of origin. Yonex lists high-strength carbon in the frame, carbon with Ultra PE Fiber in the shaft, and a built-in T-joint with T-Anchor. Yonex Japan’s dedicated grommet set for it is AC416ACH. A Magenta, Taiwan-made frame coded ARC1 is the ArcSaber 1, and a frame named ArcSaber 3 FL or coded ARC3FL is the earlier model whose production ended in 2012.
This is a current racquet, so most buyers will find it new in Japan or as an import. Yonex recommends 18–23 lb and suggests Exbolt 65 for hard hitters and BG65 Titanium for control players. For a used frame, confirm the ARC3 code and the Cyan finish, and ask for daylight photographs of the head, the shaft markings and the frame-shaft joint. Its interest is as Yonex Japan’s Japan-made all-round ArcSaber, not any professional record.
