Astrox 11: Yonex Japan’s head-heavy entry Astrox, made in Taiwan since 2024
A head-heavy Astrox for beginners
The Astrox 11 (item code AX11) is the entry model of Yonex Japan’s Astrox line: a 4U frame made in Taiwan, sold in a single Black/Green finish. Yonex Japan’s 2026 catalog sums it up as “ヘッドヘビーでパワーを乗せやすいエントリーモデル”, a head-heavy entry model that makes it easy to put power into the shot, and its official shop rates it for beginners only. Yonex Japan’s price notice of December 1, 2023 lists it at ¥14,300 including tax from January 1, 2024, and its 2024 catalog introduced it with a NEW mark. No on-sale day is documented, and Yonex documents it only in Japan.
Carbon, tungsten and Nanomesh Neo
Yonex lists a frame of carbon and tungsten and a shaft of carbon and Nanomesh Neo, joined by a built-in T-joint. Its official shop names the Isometric head shape, the Rotational Generator System, an Aero+Box frame and the Energy Boost Cap Plus, and the catalog credits the Rotational Generator System with sharp smashes. The frame is 10 mm longer than standard, in 4U (average 83 g) with grip sizes 5 and 6, and Yonex recommends 17–22 lb. It is sold as a frame only, with a dedicated case. Yonex prints no flex rating. The balance gauge in its 2024–2026 Japanese catalogs places the 11 on the head-heavy side, further than the Astrox 33 or 70 and a little short of the 55 A.
No named player
No player is documented using the Astrox 11, and Yonex Japan’s product record names none. Its shop’s level chart gives it the top mark (◎) for beginners, men and women, and leaves the intermediate and advanced columns blank; the Astrox 33, the other beginner Astrox in Japan, also carries marks for intermediate players.
One finish, and the Astrox 33 beside it
Yonex Japan’s 2026 catalog and product list show the 11 in one color, Black/Green (530), and no limited edition is documented. Its nearest sibling is the Astrox 33 of 2020: lighter (5U, average 78 g), made in Japan, with a Namd shaft, an Earth finish and a higher price; it has its own page. In Yonex Japan’s December 2023 notice the 11 shares its ¥14,300 price with the Nanoflare 111 and the ArcSaber 1, the entry models of the other two series. The strung, all-graphite Astrox 10 that Yonex USA added in 2026 is a different racquet with its own page.
On Yonex Japan’s list
The 11 is in production. The Japan Badminton Association’s approved-equipment list first carries it on January 9, 2024, and Yonex Japan’s 2024, 2025 and 2026 catalogs print it, the 2026 edition at ¥15,400 including tax. In October 2026 Yonex Japan’s official shop showed the frame sold out with a restock-notice button, a stock state rather than a discontinuation. Yonex USA’s 2021 and 2024 catalogs omit it, so outside Japan it turns up mainly as an import. No verified sales are recorded yet.
Mix-ups, not fakes
No counterfeit of the Astrox 11 is documented. The likelier confusion is over names and materials. The Astrox 10 DG (AX10DG), on Yonex’s global site in 2021, is also a 4U Astrox, 10 mm longer, with tungsten in the frame and Nanomesh Neo in the shaft, but in Navy/Turquoise. The 2026 Astrox 10 is strung and all graphite. Yonex Japan also uses the name Black/Green and color code 530 on the Nanoflare 300, so the item code on the frame settles which racquet it is.
A starter built for power
The Astrox 11 is a current, mass-produced Japanese starter: the series’ head-heavy balance and Rotational Generator System in an unstrung, Taiwan-made 4U frame. It has no limited edition and no documented player, so its interest is practical rather than collectible. Yonex has announced no successor.
Yonex’s item code is AX11, with color code 530 (Black/Green). Check for a 4U label (average 83 g, grip 5 or 6) and a frame 10 mm longer than standard; Yonex gives Taiwan as its country of origin. Yonex lists carbon and tungsten in the frame, carbon and Nanomesh Neo in the shaft and a built-in T-joint, and Yonex Japan’s dedicated grommet set for it is AC416AXF. Japanese stock carries the Japan Badminton Association’s approval. An Earth frame coded AX33 and made in Japan is the Astrox 33; a Navy/Turquoise frame marked DG is the Astrox 10 DG; a Black/Green frame coded NF-300 is a Nanoflare.
This is a current racquet, sold unstrung in Japan and abroad mainly as an import. Yonex recommends 17–22 lb and suggests BG65 Titanium for hard hitters and Nanogy 98 for control players. For a used frame, confirm the AX11 code, the Black/Green finish and the 4U label, and ask for daylight photographs of the shaft markings, the head and the frame-shaft joint. Its interest is as Yonex Japan’s head-heavy beginner Astrox, not any professional record.
