Astrox E13: the aluminum-framed starter at the foot of Yonex’s Astrox line
An aluminum Astrox
The Astrox E13 (item code AXE13) is the only aluminum-framed racquet in the Astrox pages of Yonex USA’s 2024 catalog, which gives it a page of its own at the end of the series. Yonex lists an aluminum frame on a graphite shaft, offered in 3U only, at an average 88 g. Yonex’s global site writes the name “ASTROX E 13” and first listed it in early 2023; it is still there in October 2026. Its twin in name and construction is the Nanoflare E13.
Aluminum frame, graphite shaft
Yonex’s global product page and its 2024 catalog print the same specification: Frame Aluminum, Shaft Graphite, 3U (average 88 g) with a G4 or G5 grip, and string advice of 16–20 lb. The catalog lists four technologies: the Isometric head shape, the Rotational Generator System, a slim shaft and the Control Support Cap. Yonex USA’s store adds a 22 x 22 string pattern, Performance “Power” and Player Type “Intermediate / Advanced,” and sells it as an unstrung racquet. Yonex prints no flex, no length, no balance gauge and no country of manufacture for it. Every other Astrox in the catalog starts its string advice at 18 lb or higher, and the catalog’s other aluminum frames sit on the Muscle Power and B Series pages, among them the Muscle Power 8 LT, also 3U at 88 g with 16–20 lb advice.
No named player
No player is documented using the Astrox E13. Its page in Yonex USA’s 2024 catalog carries photographs of Indonesia’s Fajar Alfian and Rian Ardianto, captioned only with their names, as other pages of the catalog carry Yonex athletes; it does not say they use it.
Two colors and a Nanoflare twin
Yonex offers two colors, Black / Blue and Black / Bright Red, both in 3U; Yonex USA’s store stocks the G5 grip. The Nanoflare E13 (NF-E13) shares the aluminum frame, graphite shaft, 3U weight and 16–20 lb advice, in Blue / Red or Turquoise / Yellow, with the Sonic Flare System in place of the Rotational Generator System and a Head Light balance field on Yonex USA’s store; it has its own page. The strung Astrox 10 and Astrox Attack 9 that Yonex USA added in 2026 are graphite and carbon frames in 4U, and no Yonex source ties them to the E13. Yonex USA’s 2024 catalog lists the graphite, Hi-Flex Astrox 01 Ability, Clear and Feel just before it; each has its own page.
On Yonex’s global site since 2023
The E13 is current. Yonex’s global site showed it in stock on its Astrox list in October 2026, and Yonex USA’s store listed it at $55 in 2026, with both colors sold out that October. It does not appear in Yonex USA’s 2021 catalog or in Yonex Japan’s 2024–2026 catalogs, so it is an export model. No launch announcement or on-sale date is documented; 2023 is the year Yonex’s global site first listed it. No verified sales are recorded yet.
Shop copy and namesakes
No counterfeit of the Astrox E13 is documented. The likelier confusion is in the copy. Yonex USA’s store description credits “Namd graphite” with boosting snapback, a phrase from the Astrox series text; the same page’s specification and Yonex’s catalog list only an aluminum frame and a graphite shaft. The store’s “Head Heavy” balance field is the one it prints on most Astrox pages, not a measurement of this model. A Nanoflare E13 is a different racquet with the same frame material and weight.
A current aluminum starter
The E13 is a mass-produced entry racquet with no documented player, edition or production end. Its interest is its place in the line: an aluminum frame carrying the Astrox name, beside an aluminum Nanoflare of the same weight.
Yonex’s item code is AXE13 (Yonex USA SKU AXE13GE), with the name printed “ASTROX E 13” on Yonex’s global site and catalog. Yonex documents an aluminum frame with a graphite shaft, 3U (average 88 g) with a G4 or G5 grip, Black / Blue or Black / Bright Red, a 22 x 22 pattern, and recommends 16–20 lb. A frame sold as an Astrox E13 in another color, weight or a full-graphite build does not match any Yonex listing. Yonex documents no flex, length or country of manufacture, so those claims cannot be checked against a Yonex record.
A current racquet, usually bought new as a first or spare racquet. For a used one, check the E13 name and the AXE13 code, the 3U label, and black with blue or bright red. A listing that describes Namd graphite, a full-graphite frame or a stiff shaft is quoting shop copy, not Yonex’s specification, and a country of manufacture given by a shop is not Yonex’s.
