Isometric 62 MF Light: Yonex USA’s titanium-mesh MF Light of 2002–03
Yonex USA’s MF Light
The Isometric 62 MF Light appears only on Yonex USA’s site: on its Isometric list of 2002 and 2003, beside the Ti Swing Power, the 90 VFS and the aluminum-framed 23 and 20, and in a spec window that marks titanium mesh.
Medium, 3U, titanium mesh
The window, titled “Isometric 62 MFLT,” gives Flex Medium, Power 3 and Control 4, 3U (85–89 g), grip G4, and 14–16 lb on the mains and 16–18 lb on the crosses. Its feature rows mark Titanium Mesh, Isometric Square Head and Built-in T-joint, and not Muscle Power Frame or UltimumTi. Every value matches the window of the Isometric 90 VFS listed beside it, apart from a misprinted cross tension there; the 90 VFS has its own page. No frame or shaft material, balance, length, made-in country or item code is documented.
No named player
Yonex names no player for the 62 MF Light.
Namesakes, not documented as the same
The 2000 Asian catalog’s Isometric 60 MF Light shares the 3U class, the flex and the string range but prints no titanium mesh; Yonex USA’s earlier 90 Light had the same flex rating (Medium) and weight. Both have their own pages, and no Yonex source links either to the 62 MF Light. Its US successor, the 63 MF Light, is rated Extra Flexible and does not mark titanium mesh.
Listed 2002 to mid-2003
Yonex USA’s Isometric list shows it from 2002 to July 2003; by December 2003 the list named the Isometric-63 MF Light in its place. 2003 is its last documented year, not a production end. No Asian catalog or Yonex Japan listing is documented, and no Yonex document found prints a price for it. No verified sales are recorded yet.
Checking the name
No counterfeit of the 62 MF Light is documented, and no photograph or frame print of it is on record. The full name is the check: a “60 MF Light”, “63 MF Light” or “75 MF Light” is a different Yonex model.
A short US record
The 62 MF Light is a list entry and one spec window, with titanium mesh as its one documented feature beyond the basics.
Yonex USA documents Medium flex, 3U (85–89 g), grip G4 and titanium mesh for the 62 MF Light; no item code, frame material or country of manufacture is documented, and no photograph of it is on record. An Extra Flexible rating points to the 63 or 75 MF Light, and a “60 MF Light” print to the 2000 Asian model. Because the spec window matches the 90 VFS’s value for value, treat its feature marks with some caution. Inspect the throat, hoop and grommet holes on any frame of this age.
The 62 MF Light interests a collector of Yonex USA’s early-2000s Isometrics. With no photograph or frame print on record, a seller’s photographs of the full name are the essential check, and any color or made-in claim is unconfirmed.
