Voltric Power Boost: the red, medium-feel F-class Voltric Yonex China added in 2020
A racquet named after a cap
The Voltric Power Boost (Yonex China item VTPWBTEX) is a light Voltric that Yonex documented only on its Chinese site, from 2020 to 2021. Its name echoes the Power Boost Cap, a shaft technology Yonex fitted to several other frames, but here it names a racquet: Yonex China gave it its own page, code and price. Its page does not list the cap among its specifications.
The 800 Lite’s numbers, a medium feel
No launch date is documented. Yonex China’s Voltric list did not show it at the end of January 2020, and its page was online by 19 February 2020. Yonex China lists a high-elastic carbon and tungsten frame, a high-elastic carbon shaft, a length 10 mm over standard, F class (about 73 g) with grips 5 and 6, a medium feel (中等) and Taiwan as the place of origin; it recommends 20–28 lb. No balance or technology list is documented.
No player on record
No player is documented with the Voltric Power Boost, and Yonex China’s page names none.
One red frame beside the blue 800 Lite
Yonex named no edition and showed one color, red (001). Its nearest relative is the Voltric 800 Lite (VT800LTEX) of 2018, which Yonex China listed beside it at the same suggested price with the same F class, materials, length, stringing advice and origin; the 800 Lite differs in its soft feel, grips 4 and 5, blue finish and a listed built-in T-joint. Yonex documents no other difference. The 800 Lite and the 5U Power Soar have their own pages.
Listed by Yonex China, 2020–2021
The Power Boost was a Chinese-market model; no Yonex Japan, UK or international listing is documented. Yonex China’s Voltric list still carried it in July 2021, its last archived listing. No Yonex source states a production end, and no launch price in dollars or yen is documented. No verified sales are recorded yet.
Identity before counterfeits
No counterfeit of the Power Boost is documented. The likelier errors come from the name: a listing that mentions “Power Boost” may mean a racquet with Yonex’s Power Boost Cap, and a blue F-class Voltric is the 800 Lite. The code VTPWBTEX, the F label and the red finish identify this one.
A short regional run
The Power Boost had the shortest documented run of Yonex China’s light Voltrics, under two years, with no player link and no edition. For a collector it is a regional curiosity whose name is easily mistaken for a technology.
Check the item code VTPWBTEX on the frame or box. Yonex China lists the Power Boost only in F class (about 73 g) with G5 or G6 grips, a high-elastic carbon and tungsten frame, a high-elastic carbon shaft and a length 10 mm over standard, recommends 20–28 lb, and gives Taiwan as the place of origin. Its documented color is red. A blue F-class frame coded VT800LTEX is the Voltric 800 Lite; a racquet whose description mentions a Power Boost Cap is another model.
A buyer should confirm the VTPWBTEX code, the F label and the G5 or G6 grip, since the name is shared with a Yonex technology and the frame closely matches the 800 Lite. With a run documented only by Yonex China and no player link, it is a light racquet for play first.
