ArcSaber Lite: the China-made 4U ArcSaber at the bottom of Yonex’s 2015 line
The least expensive ArcSaber
The ArcSaber Lite was the China-made, lowest-priced ArcSaber of Yonex’s 2015 line. Yonex gave it a graphite frame and shaft, NANOAIR SPRING, a Medium flex and a single 4U weight class, where the ArcSaber 11 above it used high-modulus graphite and was made in Japan. Yonex China priced it below every other racquet on its ArcSaber list, from its 2016 product page to the last copy of that list in June 2021.
Graphite and NANOAIR SPRING
Yonex’s international site added the Lite to its ArcSaber list in early February 2015, beside the 6 FL and FD; no launch date is documented, so 2015 is the earliest Yonex-documented year. The product page gave item code ARC-LITE, Flex Medium, a graphite frame with NANOAIR SPRING, a graphite shaft, 4U (Ave. 83 g) in G4 and G5, Yonex recommending 19–24 lb, and “Made in China.” Its one line of copy read “NANOAIR SPRING provides excellent control, accuracy and power.” Yonex China’s 2016 page called it a control frame (控制型) for intermediate players (进阶级), 10 mm longer than standard. Yonex’s global site in 2020 also listed AERO+BOX Frame and ISOMETRIC.
No named player
No Yonex source names a player for the ArcSaber Lite. Yonex placed it as a recreational and club frame, and its pages carry only the series’ general copy.
Red/Black, then Navy Blue and Black
Yonex’s 2015 page named one color, Red/Black; Yonex China listed black and red (黑色;红色) under its own code ARCLTGE. Yonex UK’s 2019 page named Navy Blue, and Yonex’s global site in 2020 named Black under the address code ARCLT. Yonex USA’s stringing lists spell it ARC-LITE (2019) and ARLT (2021). The ArcSaber Light 5i (2020) is a different, 5U model, and the 6 FL, FD and 4DX were its 2015 list-mates; each has its own page.
Six years on Yonex’s lists
The Lite stayed on Yonex’s international ArcSaber list through the 2020 rebuild of yonex.com: the new global site showed it “In stock” in September and November 2020, and its September 2021 list no longer had it. Yonex China’s list kept it until at least June 2021, but that list never removed old models, so 2020 is the last year a pruning Yonex list documents it on sale. No verified sales are recorded yet.
Fakes and mix-ups
No counterfeit of this model is documented. The likelier confusion is with the ArcSaber Light 5i and the retailer-named “Light” i-series frames, which carry similar names but are other racquets.
A footnote to the ArcSaber line
The Lite carried the ArcSaber name into the lowest price tier for six years. For a player it is a light, medium-flex club frame; for a collector it marks the period when Yonex filled the ArcSaber line with lower-priced 4U and 5U models from Taiwan and China.
Check for the ARCSABER LITE name print and a 4U marking: Yonex offered no other weight class. Yonex lists the frame as made in China, so look for a China marking. Yonex’s colors were Red/Black (2015), black or red in China, Navy Blue (Yonex UK, 2019) and Black (2020). Yonex documents a graphite frame and shaft with NANOAIR SPRING and Medium flex; a frame claiming high-modulus graphite or a stiff shaft is another model. A 5U frame in orange or lime is the ArcSaber Light 5i.
A buyer should confirm the name print, the 4U class and the China marking, and not confuse it with the 5U ArcSaber Light 5i or the retailer-named Light i-series. Yonex documents no balance for it. As a low-priced club frame from 2015–2020, condition matters more than the colorway.
