Nanoflare 700 Play: the China-made 2024 tier that Yonex Japan does not sell

The fourth model, outside Japan

Yonex’s global release for the 2024 Nanoflare 700 announced four models, Pro, Tour, Game and Play, for a worldwide launch on September 13, 2024, and Yonex’s global store showed the Play in stock by mid-September. Yonex Japan’s release of the same week named only three, and the Play appears neither on Yonex Japan’s racquet list nor in its 2025 and 2026 catalogs: it is an export model. It is the plainest of the four, a graphite racquet made in China, and Yonex USA sells it strung among its beginner racquets.

Graphite frame and shaft

Yonex’s global specification lists the Play’s frame and shaft simply as graphite and names no joint, Nanocell NEO or Servo Filter, all of which it lists for the three higher tiers. Yonex rates the flex Hi-Flex, offers only 4U with grip 5, recommends 20–28 lb and marks the frame 10 mm longer than standard, as on the rest of the family. Yonex USA’s spec field gives the balance as head-light and credits the Play with the Sonic Flare System, Isometric, the Aero Frame and a Super Slim Shaft.

Players

No player is documented using the Nanoflare 700 Play. Yonex’s launch news named Chae Yu-jung for the new 700 without naming a model, and nothing ties her to this tier.

Three colors, two spellings of the code

The Play launched in Midnight Purple and Silver/Sky Blue, the colors of the Tour and Game, and Yonex’s global page now adds Light Beige, which Yonex USA sells strung in its spring 2026 Shutter Series. The code appears two ways: the September 2024 global page printed 2NF700PL without a hyphen, the current one 2NF-700PL, and Yonex USA’s model number is NF700PL. The Nanoflare 1000 Play is the same tier in Lightning Yellow, also graphite, 4U and made in China, but rated medium rather than Hi-Flex.

Sold strung, outside Japan

The Play is current production: Yonex’s global store lists it in stock in October 2026 and Yonex USA sells it strung. No launch price is documented, and Yonex Japan, which does not sell it, has none. Yonex USA’s product text for the purple and silver Play was copied from the Nanoflare 1000 Play and names that racquet, so a listing that repeats it is not a description of this model. No verified sales are recorded yet.

Copies and mix-ups

No counterfeit of the 700 Play is documented. The practical risk is confusion with the Game, which shares its Hi-Flex rating, its 4U weight and two of its colors but is made in Taiwan with Nanocell NEO in the frame. Yonex’s general test is the hologram sticker, which resists peeling on a genuine racquet.

The 700’s entry point

The Play is the beginner tier of the 2024 Nanoflare 700 and the only one of the four not sold in Japan. As of October 2026 nothing documents a player, a limited edition or a production end for it.

Authentication

Yonex’s item code is 2NF-700PL (printed 2NF700PL on its first global page; Yonex USA model number NF700PL), and Yonex lists it as made in China. Frame and shaft are graphite, the flex Hi-Flex, the only size 4U with grip 5, and the frame 10 mm longer than standard. Colors are Midnight Purple, Silver/Sky Blue and Light Beige. A Taiwan marking points to the Tour or Game, a Japan marking to the Pro, and a 5U label to the Pro or Tour. Yonex’s own test is the hologram sticker.

Outlook

A current racquet, usually bought new and strung as a first Nanoflare. For a used one, confirm the PLAY print, the code and the China marking, since three other 2024 models share the name and the paint. A Play described with Nanocell NEO, Servo Filter or Taiwanese or Japanese manufacture is another tier.
