Nanoflare X5: a strung, Hi-Flex beginner Nanoflare that Yonex USA files under Play

A Play-group beginner Nanoflare

The Nanoflare X5 (Yonex USA model number NF-X5GE) is a strung beginner racquet that Yonex USA added to its store on September 23, 2026, the same day as the strung Astrox 10. Yonex calls it “a beginner-friendly racquet that builds confidence as you develop your game,” lists its player type as beginner and intermediate, and puts it in Model Group PLAY, the name of the beginner tier of the Nanoflare 700, 800 and 1000 families. Its copy invites players to “progress within the NANOFLARE lineup.”

HT graphite, 10 mm longer

Yonex USA lists HT graphite, a frame 10 mm longer than standard, 4U at an average 83 g with a G5 grip, Hi-Flex, Head Light balance and a 22 x 22 string pattern, and recommends 20–27 lb. Its copy credits a “flexible shaft” that “delivers forgiving performance for newer players.” Yonex names no technologies and no country of manufacture. On frame material, length, weight and flex it matches the Nanoflare 002 Ability, Clear and Feel, which Yonex USA’s 2024 catalog listed as new and Yonex’s global site still lists, though no Yonex source ties the two; they have their own pages.

No named player

No player is documented using the Nanoflare X5.

Three accents on white

Yonex USA describes “the clean white design” and sells the X5 in Mist Purple, Salmon Pink and Ash Gray, all 4U with a G5 grip. Shops in Asia listed it as a Korea-market model from February 2026, with a fourth color that no Yonex page shows. Shops also sell Korea-market Nanoflare X7 models, which no Yonex page lists, and nothing documented makes the X5 part of a series with them. The Nanoflare Speed 7, also strung and aimed at beginners, is a carbon racquet in 4U with a G4 grip; it has its own page.

On Yonex USA’s store

The X5 is current: Yonex USA lists it at $55, strung and in stock in October 2026, among its beginner racquets beside the strung Plays of the Nanoflare 700, 800 and 1000. It is the only X-named Nanoflare on that store. Yonex’s global site and Yonex UK do not list it, and Yonex Japan’s 2026 catalog does not include it. The entry Nanoflares on Yonex’s global site include the stiff, matte-white Nanoflare 555; it has its own page. No verified sales are recorded yet.

Plays and X7s

No counterfeit of the X5 is documented. Identity is the likelier problem. The Nanoflare 700 Play shares its Hi-Flex rating, its 4U size with a G5 grip and its 10 mm longer frame, so the model name and the code matter more than the photograph. A racquet sold as a Nanoflare X7 is a different model. Yonex’s general test is the hologram sticker, which resists peeling on a genuine racquet.

The newest beginner name

The X5 is a mass-produced beginner racquet with no documented player, edition or production end. Its interest is its label: a new name that Yonex USA nonetheless files with the Play tiers.

Authentication

Yonex USA’s model number is NF-X5GE, on a white frame with Mist Purple, Salmon Pink or Ash Gray. Yonex documents HT graphite, a frame 10 mm longer than standard, 4U (average 83 g) with a G5 grip, Hi-Flex, Head Light balance and a 22 x 22 pattern, sold strung, and recommends 20–27 lb. Yonex documents no country of manufacture, so a made-in claim cannot be checked against a Yonex record. The Nanoflare 700 Play is graphite and made in China by Yonex’s account; the 1000 Play is Lightning Yellow and rated medium. Yonex’s own test is the hologram sticker.

Outlook

A current racquet, usually bought new and strung as a first Nanoflare. For a used one, check the X5 name and the NF-X5 code, the 4U G5 label and the white frame with purple, pink or gray. A listing that describes a medium or stiff shaft or a 5U frame is another model, and a country of manufacture given in shop copy is not Yonex’s.
