Nanoflare 500: the matte-black, medium-flex entry Nanoflare Yonex listed 2021–2025

The black entry Nanoflare

The Nanoflare 500 (item code NF-500; NF-500EX in Yonex Taiwan’s files) is a medium-flex entry Nanoflare in Matte Black, offered in 5U and 4U, with an HM Graphite frame carrying Nanocell NEO and EX-HMG. Yonex first documented it in 2021, on its global site’s Nanoflare list and in Yonex USA’s 2021 catalog, and last listed it in stock on its global site in November 2025. In 2022 Yonex added the Nanoflare 555, which lists the same frame materials plus Solid Titanium and a stiff flex.

Medium flex in two weights

Yonex’s global page lists an HM Graphite frame with Nanocell NEO and EX-HMG, an HM Graphite shaft, a built-in T-joint, a length 10 mm longer than standard, Medium flex and two weights, 5U (average 78 g) and 4U (average 83 g), each with a G4 or G5 grip. Yonex recommends 19–26 lb for 5U and 20–27 lb for 4U. Yonex USA’s 2024 catalog prints the same and names Nanocell NEO, Isometric, Sonic Flare System, Solid Feel Core, AERO Frame, Super Slim Shaft, REXIS Shaft, Control Support Cap and EX-HMG. Yonex Taiwan adds Head Light balance and tags it SPEED. No Yonex page gives a country of manufacture, a launch date or player-level wording.

No named player

No player is documented using the Nanoflare 500. Yonex Taiwan’s product page carries a strip of Yonex athletes, among them Akane Yamaguchi and Aaron Chia; that strip is a site feature on its racquet pages, not a statement of who uses this model.

One black finish and a white sibling

Yonex lists one color, Matte Black. The Nanoflare 555 in Matte White shares the frame materials, shaft, T-joint and length, and adds Solid Titanium, a Stiff rating and a single 4U weight; Yonex USA’s 2024 catalog also gives it an Ultra Slim Shaft where the 500 has Solid Feel Core and a Super Slim Shaft. It has its own page. On Yonex’s 2021 global Nanoflare list the 500 appeared with the Nanoflare 600, 160 FX and 100 and the 170 Light and 270 Speed; in the 2024 catalog it shares the Nanoflare page with the Nanoflare 70, Nextage and 555. No Yonex source names a successor.

Listed from 2021 to 2025

Yonex’s global Nanoflare list of November 2020 held ten models without the 500; its list of September 2021 shows it in stock. Yonex USA’s 2021 catalog names the code NF500 in its stringing guide, and the 2024 catalog gives the full specification. Yonex’s global product page last showed it in stock in November 2025; by October 2026 the page was gone and the global Nanoflare list no longer included it. Yonex Taiwan’s page remains online, with a suggested price of about NT$4,500. Yonex Japan’s 2024–2026 catalogs do not include it. No verified sales are recorded yet.

Identity before authenticity

No counterfeit of the Nanoflare 500 is documented. The likelier confusion is with the Nanoflare 555, which shares the frame materials and the 10 mm longer length but is white, stiff and 4U only. Yonex documents no country of manufacture for the 500, so a made-in line in a listing cannot be checked against a Yonex record. Yonex’s general authenticity check is its hologram sticker.

A discontinued entry frame

A mass-produced entry racquet with no documented player or edition, last listed in stock by Yonex in 2025. Its place in the record is as the medium-flex, two-weight partner of the stiffer Nanoflare 555 among the export entry Nanoflares of the early 2020s.

Authentication

Yonex’s item code is NF-500 (NF-500EX in Yonex Taiwan’s files), on a Matte Black frame. Yonex documents an HM Graphite frame with Nanocell NEO and EX-HMG, an HM Graphite shaft, a built-in T-joint, a frame 10 mm longer than standard, Medium flex, and 5U (average 78 g) or 4U (average 83 g) with a G4 or G5 grip; it recommends 19–26 lb for 5U and 20–27 lb for 4U. Yonex Taiwan adds Head Light balance. Yonex documents no country of manufacture. A white frame, a Stiff rating or Solid Titanium in the frame list points to the Nanoflare 555.

Outlook

Now found used or as leftover stock. Check the NF-500 code, the Matte Black finish, the Medium rating and a 4U or 5U label with a G4 or G5 grip. Treat a country of manufacture given in shop copy as unconfirmed, and a white or stiff example as the Nanoflare 555.
